Introducing Project EDWARD 2017
After just one year, Project Edward has earned its place on Europe’s road safety calendar. The 2017 European Day without a Road Death takes place on Thursday 21 September. We’ll be coordinating events, initiatives and promotional activity right across Europe.
There will be a brand new dedicated Project EDWARD website with:
  • lots of new resources
  • artwork you can download and use free of charge - including images and infographics
  • a social media schedule so you will know what we're going to be doing and can align yourself with our various messages in the build-up to the day and on the day itself
  • a countdown timer to the day itself (starting 11 June, 100 days before 21 September)
  • an interactive map
  • a brand new pledge to sign
I really hope you will wish to be part of Project EDWARD 2017, so that we can once again deliver a great awareness raiser that will contribute to reducing death and serious injury on our roads.
So - please spread the word. Tell your colleagues and contacts. Follow @ProjectEDWARD on Twitter. Tell everyone, and let's make Project EDWARD 2017 as successful as possible.
Many thanks for your support.

What Project EDWARD achieved in 2016...
Project EDWARD 2016 proved to be a brilliant road safety awareness-raiser:
  • #ProjectEDWARD was trending on Twitter in many countries and – for a short time – in the top 50 trending topics globally.
  • There were 7,923 Twitter posts, with a unique reach of 19,298,225.
  • Twitter featured #ProjectEDWARD in its ‘Moments’ section, which presents the most important topics happening at a particular time.
TISPOL acknowledges the financial support of the GEM Motoring Assist Road Safety Charity, which went towards:
  • the production of the 10 awareness-raising videos
  • the running of the social media wall
  • the Brussels conference on 21 September
Get involved in #Project EDWARD 2017
Please make sure you play your part. If we encourage everyone to make small changes, the overall effect will be massive and Project EDWARD really can be more than a target.
  • Make #ProjectEDWARD massive - by tweeting your support and retweeting our messages
  • Sign the pledge, and challenge your colleagues, contacts, friends and family members to sign it, too
  • Record your own video pledge which we'll share on the website and across social media (details below)
  • Plan events and initiatives of your own - use Project EDWARD as an umbrella theme that can unite all kinds of road safety awareness-raising activity
If you have any questions at any time, please drop us an email and we will do our best to help.
Could you support Project EDWARD financially?
We're delighted to acknowledge the generous assistance of Road Safety Support and Westcotec in making Project EDWARD happen this year. We have some exciting packages for supporters, sponsors and partners, so if you may be able to get involved in this way, do please take a look at the support packages on offer... or contact us to discuss a plan tailored to your budget.
Introducing the 2017 video pledge
We'll soon be inviting individuals, groups and organisations to record and send their video pledges, which we'll share on the website and across social media. We may even find some prizes for the ones we like best!
How it works:
  • Find a safe, suitable location and record your support message of up to 15 seconds in length.
  • Finish your message with the ‘zero’ sign to show your support. HINT: Don’t do it alone. Get a few friends or a big group to join you, and make a big noise!
  • Video pledges will be played in rotation at ProjectEdward.eu, starting 12 June and going through to 21 September. We will also tweet your video pledge to help spread the word!
